Untreated wood as preservatives can harm bats. However, these boxes are now also available in an eco-friendly, low-VOC black stain (applied to the exterior only).
Back-plate with drilled holes to aid easy fastening to a building or tree.
 
The standard box is supplied with a fixed roof.  Also available is a hinged-roof version which is fastened using a hook and eye on the front of the box.
 
The entrance hole is at the base of the box. Bats land on the vertical base and crawl into the boxes.
 
The box measures approximately 36cm (H) x 15cm (W) and 20cm (D).
